Wonderful Street Film Photography by Nehemias Colindres

Nehemias Colindres is a 32-year-old Salvadorian/American filmmaker and photographer who is living in Berlin. “As a filmmaker, I focus on directing commercials and short films. I just finished shooting my latest short film about first generation Turkish teens living in Berlin. Besides, my photography is pretty simple, it is somewhat similar to my personal film work. I enjoy shooting from an unsuspecting point of view, like a floating fly on the wall. I'm obsessed with shooting through windows at the moment. There is something serene about it. I'm also very inspired by Robert Frank's "The Americans" series.”

Nehemias has been shooting on film mostly with a Edixa Revueflex LTL, a Mamiya RB67, and a 50mm lens. “One of the reasons I love photography so much is, that for me, it isn't so much of a job the way my filmmaking career is. I feel with my films, I have to adhere to certain rules and there is a certain amount of pressure to progress and grow, the expectations are always higher but with photography it feels like no one is watching and I can shoot whatever I want whenever I want. It is very liberating.”
