Amazing Black and White Film Astrophotography by James Cormier

James Cormier is an American photographer who is living in Sullivan, a town in Hancock County, Maine. “I have been a film shooter since the early 1980's and have always enjoyed the aesthetics of film. I also enjoy challenging subjects, mostly low light work such as astrophotography and night landscapes. I shoot both color and B&W, using 35mm and medium format cameras.”

James is now also working as an electronics technician. He's really a lover of the night sky. “I realized photography to be a natural outlet for actively participating in, and learning more about the nocturnal scene. Composition and execution of long exposures are often daunting, but quite rewarding when vision and technique guide the way to successful images.”

  2. My brothers and I were photography buffs ever since we were in middle school. My parents encouraged the passion and up to now, we always have a blast just taking pictures of nature. Recently we started taking photos of the night sky especially the Northern Lights. Right now, we have the Orion 53083 Starshoot G3 and the Celestron 95507 Skyris as addition to our gear. We're very happy with it and thanks to the reviews on this site, we were able to have more options and see other products, as well.
