Roman Lysenko is an Ukraine-based photographer who is living in Kiev. “I started to photograph on film about 3 years ago when one of my good friends presented me an old Soviet medium format camera Kiev 88. I was immediately captivated by its magic.”
Roman soon then bought a Pentax Spotmatic and “it became a primary tool in all my journeys and stays so until today. Ever since in every trip I have taken these two cameras with myself. I just consider photography as a hobby though I made a couple of commercial shootings. I chose to photograph on film because I like the "philosophy of process" of the old mechanical cameras. Also, I like colours and depth of the film. Eventually, I like that my photographs very accurately depict memories of the exact moments.”
