Wonderful Portrait Film Photography by Nolwen Cifuentes

Nolwen Cifuentes is a French-Colombian photographer, based-in Los Angeles. “I got a 35mm Canon camera when I was 12 that my mom bought me and it's still the same one I use today, 15 years later, to shoot a lot of my images. It's like an extension of my hand a bit, I know that camera so well. I've been shooting professionally about 2 years.”

Nolwen shoots mostly portrait, fashion and still for music videos, but really trying to explore photojournalism and trying to heal the world through telling real stories of people. “I love to shoot people with stories or even places or objects with stories. I've been more and more into shooting objects & environments void of people that still somehow have a sense of a human story. I love to shoot people when it feels like they are least expecting me to, although sometimes it's hard in a photo shoot situation.”

“I love light & texture and I think that's why I really love shooting on film. I do shoot on digital often as well and I think it's getting close to film, but I don't know, there's something quite irreplicable about the texture of film and the way it holds information.”
