Portrait Film Photography by Arina Vital

Arina Vital is a 26-year-old self-taught photographer from Salvador, Brazil. She first got into photography in 2012 with a Canon digital camera. “I never really thought I'd be shooting film and even remember thinking it was some kind of trend. Because I needed new lenses for my camera, which happened to be expensive, I bought a M42 adapter and got some old, fully mechanical Russian lenses. They felt different from the beginning, and that got me curious. I ended up  getting a Zenit B in the end of 2013.”

Arina is also an architecture student. She shoots mostly personal self-portraits, and “film just helps me create light-headed atmosphere while lending a rough look to the images. It's unpredictable nature also makes me want to take more risks.”
