Film Photography by Andrew Vincent Smith

Andrew Vincent Smith is a 19-year-old American photographer, based-in Linwod, NJ. “My first love is film and have been off and on with that for about 7 years now. I would definitely consider myself self-taught in film and photography. With this self-taughtness comes a learning where I never really learned the aesthetics of it.”

Andrew currently shoot everything on film mostly with his Nikon FM10. He also studied at Syracuse University’s film school for about a year and a half, “but was really unsatisfied with the teachings of the film program and the school as a whole. I came home for this semester and have been taking a film photography class where I learned the basic principals of the 35mm camera, and darkroom printing. Up until this class (4 months ago) I had always enjoyed photography and would take several pictures on my iPhone wherever I went, but I had never learned the nitty-gritty details of it all. My love for photography has since grown a substantial amount because of this class and I cannot wait to keep further bettering myself at this medium.”
