Eylül Aslan is a 24 year-old Turkish freelance photographer, based-in Istanbul. She started shooting film when she was 17 with a Nikon F90s from her mother, since then has always kept this passion.
Eylül has been featured on Shooting Film few times. She is one of creative artists with impressive portrait, also self-portrait photos. Today she was coming back with us to share her thoughts and experience about her work in a new project called My Thoughts on Film Photography.
I love film photography because that is how I started making photos. That was the only way I knew how to make photos and the fact of shooting film has developed my style the way it has.
I love digital photography as well because in the end, for me, it is all about making photos, either with an iPhone or a digital camera or whatever...
but I do believe I can show my own true style only through film photography.
So it feels like even if I wanted to change now and start with digital, I would not be able to be who I am.
Beside, Eylül Aslan is also a book writer. Her books are almost about photography. In which she shared her stunning photos, her thoughts, experience, and the way she has been working.
Here is her first book which published already. The second book is coming out in March.
