Film Photography by Emily Bartlett Hines

Emily Bartlett Hines, an American film photographer, is also a writer, editor based-in Nashville, Tennessee. She got interested in film around 2000 and taking black and white pictures with a Minolta SRT 100. "My mom is a college photography teacher and I learned a lot of what I know from her, so preserving this art form is very meaningful to me."

Emily took a break from photography a long time while she was in graduate school before coming back with film photography again and using mainly Yashica-D and Diana F+ cameras.

"I'm primarily interested in capturing details of the urban environment that are crumbling, decaying, or overlooked, and in creating images that blur the line between representation and abstraction." She says.
