Flickr Samplr #39: National Rose Month

On November 20, 1986 President of the United States of America Ronald Reagan signed a resolution making the rose the national floral emblem at a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden

As a florist, June is one of our favorite months at May Flowers because it is National Rose Month! Roses have a long and colorful history. They have been symbols of love, beauty, war and politics.

After eighteen analogue photographs of beautiful roses were chosen from our group pool on Flickr to celebrate this event.

  1. This is an interesting article, thank you for producing it.

Allow me to make one small correction, in the paragraph below the next to final image, Scanned negatives shown as positives, there is a misspelled word. quote "…loosing film…". There is not a word in the English language spelled, loosing, the correct word is losing. Though losing sounds as though it should have two letter o there is only one. Think lost, losing, both with a single letter o.
