Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) celebrates the opening of its newest exhibition, Frida Kahlo, Her Photos, with a Frida-inspired weekend of activities! The weekend with the exhibition will open on Saturday, March 15 at 7:00 pm. This exhibition features over 200 film images from Frida’s personal Casa Azul archive from Mexico City. Included in this collection are both traditional portrait photography and candid shots, mementos of pain, love and her worldly artistic, intellectual and political life. Photos by renowned photographers such as Lola and Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Man Ray and Edward Weston, among others, are also part of this exhibition.
On Sunday, March 16 celebrate Frida and Women’s History Month at MOLAA's Fridamania Festival! Enjoy art by local women artists and celebrate the contributions of women to art, movement and music! You will also have the opportunity to participate in a Frida-look-a-like contest and join curators and scholars in a discussion of the exhibition Frida Kahlo, Her Photos. Visit the MOLAA website for more information on how you can participate and take part in the fun.
