White Cherry Blossoms

The cherry blossom (sakura) is Japan's unofficial national flower. It has been celebrated for many centuries and holds a very prominent position in Japanese culture. There are many dozens of different cherry tree varieties in Japan, most of which bloom for just a couple of days in spring. The cherry blossoms open as early as January and come into full bloom around the beginning of April. Below is a selection of 12 beautiful analog photos of cherry blossoms.

  1. These are absolutely gorgeous photos. You'd think seeing as colour is such a fundamental feature of flowers, these photos would look a bit flat, but I think the black and white really works here.
