And then, just take a look into the interview below to know more about BriAnne Wills.
Hi Brianne, can you tell us more about you?
I'm an American photographer from Portland, Oregon currently living in Kiev, Ukraine with my husband and two cats.
How did you get started taking pictures?
It started out as a hobby in college. I was using my friends as subjects and posting the results online. Eventually people saw my work and started offering me paid jobs shooting portraits, weddings, and model portfolios. After college I pursued photography more seriously, focusing mainly on fashion and lifestyle.
What are film cameras you use, and which is your favorite?
I use a Yashica T4, Ricoh R1E, Canon Ae-1, and any weird disposable cameras I can get my hands on. The Yashica is my favorite because lightweight and compact, but also because the images it produces are so clear.
Are you a full time photographer or is it just a hobby?
I'm a full-time photographer.
Tell us about your background in photography? Do you have a favorite photographer?
I'm self-taught, but I've assisted on shoots and I interned at a photography studio in NY in 2007. I have several favorite photographers and they are always changing. Right now they are Tim Walker, and Mert & Marcus.
Any message for other film photographers? Or maybe a tip you would like to share?
Anyone thinking about becoming a photographer should learn on a film camera. Chances are your photos aren't going to be perfect when you're starting out, but with film, at least they will be interesting.
Brianne, thank you so much for the interview!
