Early New York Punk Portraits from 1970s by William Coupon

These portraits from 1979 were taken by American photographer William Coupon at the Mudd Club in lower Manhattan, New York City, where the young and the hipster punk rockers used to hang out all night long. It’s great to see the variety of styles that William captured, with some of the clothing and haircuts looking dated, while others look very contemporary.
