Film Photography by Russel Kwok

Russel Kwok got hooked on photography shooting with film about 6 years ago, he moved to digital early last year with the thoughts of giving up film. But his Copenhagen and Scotland trips have reminded him why he fell in love with photography in the first place.
"I bought a second hand Nikon FE in Copenhagen and a couple rolls of Kodak Tri-X 400. I had been traveling for about 3 weeks then, with my trusty Nikon D700 and 28-300, 135 f2, 50 f1.4 and 14-24 shooting landscapes, street and architecture. But when I took the first frame with the FE and cocked the shutter for my next frame, I felt alive; I felt refreshed. I began shooting everything, and for some reason, I felt comfortable- like I could trust the camera to produce the images I saw in my mind.
After a long break, I recently returned from Scotland, and the results I got from my Leica M7 were stunning, the color rendition, and general feel of the whole photograph just blew me away. It was then I knew film is something I could never give up."
