Andy Warhol in flower field with Flowers silk-screen, Queens NY 1964

William John Kennedy, a freelance photographer when the photos were taken, had nearly forgotten about them and only rediscovered the images several years ago in a "beat-up cardboard box" while Kennedy and his wife were preparing to move to Miami.

These photographs are a revelation: disclosing the early Warhol’s intimate relationship with his work; revealing more about the artist and the work through these intimate portraits. Though the subject of innumerable photos, we have not seen this Warhol before.
