FilmTrackr - A Web App for Tracking Film in Your Cameras

Don't you hate it when you forget which roll of film is in your camera? With FilmTrackr, you don't have to worry about it ever again. This makes it easier for film photographers who have a lot of cameras and it's hard to keep track of what film is in those cameras.

This idea came up by Vallen, and the website was made by John Schroeder.  They just launched it yesterday after a few weeks of beta testing with a small group of people.
"The reason we created it is that both of us have ~10 film cameras that we use regularly and there are times where we set down a camera for weeks/months with a roll still in it, and we forgot what was in there. So this web app was our response to that problem. FilmTrackr tracks a roll of film from the moment you put it in your camera to the time you develop it, and scan into the computer (optional). You can also run reports on your data, and export it at any time."
FilmTrackr should work both on your desktop browser and on your phone. And if you have an iPhone you can add this to your home screen.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I learned about this project because of the film photograph projects forum. My goal is to use it to create a free alternative to kickstarter for film photography projects. http://believeinfilm.com/forums/promote-your-film-photography-project
