Welcome back to Seoul/Korea based photographer Mira Heo, who takes a lot of amazing portraits of analog, and some of them were featured on Shooting Film before. We asked Mira more about herself and her background in photography.
Hi Mira, can you tell us more about you?
I'm a freelancer photographer based in South Korea. I'm 30 years old. I love movie, music and actually all that art.
How did you become a photographer? And why film?
I think I was falling in photography when I took a picture with a film camera at first time.
What are film cameras you use? Do you remember which is your first film camera?
I use Nikon film camera with 50mm lens. And my first film camera was a Minolta X-700.
Your personal work focuses on beauty and self-portraits, why this choice?
I just love and want that. Actually when I see someone's beauty, it makes me shooting, I can't stop it. And self-portrait is the easiest way what I want to say, yet.
Can you tell us which of your photos do you like especially, and why?
Oh, it's so dificult question! Actually I don't like my work so much. Because I've never been really satisfied.
Any message for other film photographers? Or maybe a tip you would like to share?
I learn many things from you. I hope you enjoy film, and show me your work more and more. My tip is... nothing special. I'm just trying again and again.
Mira, thank you so much for the interview.
